Here's me playing Zelda's Song of Storms:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPqXxmC5 ... re=related
Ocarina sounds great with accompaniment!
Terrific! Your performance rocks!
awesome!
Sweet!
as i noted on the video you might want to put a link back to these forums
btw Great Performance
You know I thought I was getting halfway decent after a few days of playing this thing, but now I feel stupid. BACK TO PRACTICING.
amazing job btw
That was excellent! Well done and thanks for posting the video!
Very impressive rendition. I must say you put me to shame
You are really awesome. I would like to practice more and play the ocarina as you did.
I noticed a couple spots where you whistled, I find myself doing the same thing. :P
It's difficult because to get the best sound you really do have to pucker up pretty good, and sometimes it just comes out as a whistle. I have done 3 videos myself, but only to send to a friend. I would upload them but I didn't use the line-in on the computer, just the built-in mic, so they don't sound nearly as great as this. This video is inspiring though... perhaps I'll redo mine.
That was freaking awesome. But good thing you didn't get a phone call during that, huh?
Nice work! Wish I had a keyboard...and could play it ;)
Thanks everyone for your kind words. I hope to upload another video soon. I was thinking I might make the piano track available as an mp3 as well if there's interest.
jmonty, that could make a great roll of youtube bloopers...ocarina playing interrupted by obnoxious ringtones...
G-Ram, I have to work really hard to keep the whistling under control. I keep wanting to play the iphone as I would a real wind instrument, tightening my embouchure for the higher notes ... that's when the whistling happens. I think that just speaks to the great work Smule did in creating an ocarina that sounds and feels like the real deal. I get as much joy from playing it as I do any instrument.
modal could you do a video of you playing Aerith's Theme or Saria's Song?
Those when they are played right sound amazing.
Modalmixture, fantastic job. I was very impressed when I watched your video on youtube the other day . Well anyway, I read a comment that you had made under your video about the tab for the song of storms being on this site....and well, I can't find it on here. Could you please help me? Thanks.
Here's the tab (I used the first one in F ionian):
Excellent performance! The accompaniment was a nice touch. This has inspired me to try and learn the song myself.
Excellent job! Wow, I am very impressed. I am glad to have noticed the forums so I can at least see how things are done and get some ideas. Now if I could figure out how to read the "sheet music" that gets posted on here.....I would be golden!
Tami
Great job! I love your arrangement. I posted a youtube vid of another arrangement and I wish I would have used yours. I've played along with your video and I'm almost to the point where I can keep up with the tempo.
Thanks for the inspiration.
Bwana
BRAVO! :D
Do you think you could play my song?
music for it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtmPwe6PNSc
