Odd ranks and achievements glitch

I have all the achievements, the highest performer rank and the highest judge rank, yet I only got leaf trombone yesterday. What is going on?

Yeah, this is a known bug... a pretty egregious one as it basically makes ranks meaningless.

When and how are ranks figured and upgraded?? I see no reason or how they are figured. Please help me understand
