Smule, Inc. (“Smule” or “we”) shares the concerns of users of our applications and website (“you”) about the protection of your personal information online. This is our policy regarding the privacy of information we collect inside our applications and on our websites. This privacy policy applies to the smule.com site and all of the internet-accessible web properties and applications owned or operated by Smule. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that Smule does not own or control. Information we gather and how we use it

We collect certain information from you in order to provide you with the most interesting and useful applications and websites possible.

iOS or Android platforms

Unique device ID, hardware type, the version of your operating system, your in-game activity, and your location (based on opt-in location-based services, which rely upon a device’s GPS coordinates)

Platforms/third-party marketplaces

3rd party libraries included on the client will also collect the device information and user in-game activity.

Facebook Connect

If you sign into our applications with Facebook Connect we will collect information that is visible via your Facebook account such as: (1) your first and last name, (2) Facebook ID, (3) Profile Picture/URL, and (4) list of Facebook friends. Your name will be primarily used for user registration and in social features, which may include friend-to-friend interaction, chat, or messaging functionality, public leaderboards, head-to-head competition and other similar features.

In-game dialog boxes

When you register in our applications, we may ask whether you’d like to provide us with certain pieces of information, which could include your email and username. We will do this through in-game dialog boxes.

We use user information to understand usage trends, troubleshoot our applications, and improve our products.

We use contact information to update you on our products, provide customer support, and connect you to other users of our applications.

We use your IP address to identify you, to gather demographic information that helps us understand how you and our other customers use our website and applications, and to administer our website.

We sometimes conduct or sponsor surveys and contests. If you elect to participate, we may ask you for contact, demographic, and other information as part of these offerings. We use this information to analyze and report on the results of surveys, and to provide you with the results of the surveys and contests. Participation in surveys and contests is completely voluntary.

Information we may disclose

Smule does not sell or disclose personal information about you described above to other people or nonaffiliated companies except to provide you with products or services, when we have your permission, or under the certain circumstances as detailed below.

We share demographic, profile and other general information about you and our other customers with our partners on an aggregate basis. This means that we tell our advertisers general information about the characteristics of our customer base such as how many visitors and registered users we have within a certain postal code, but we do not specifically identify a particular visitor or provide his or her contact information to our advertisers.

Our website uses "cookies" which deposit certain record keeping information on your hard drive. Smule offers the ability to correct or update online the information we collected during registration by contacting support via our online support form.
